I think that "plays nice" has a B because she is trying to become friends with Rachel again, she isn't getting mad at anyone for making fun of her, and she is giving an effort to be friends with Heather. The reason why lunch has a D is because she doesn't know who to sit with besides Heather. Melinda isn't very social ever since she got raped, so it is very hard for her to branch out. I think clothes gets a C because she isn't trying anymore because i think she feels like she has no one to impress of dress nicely for anymore. In biology, i believe that Melinda has a B because she has her only friend (except for Heather) in that class. I think gym has a C+ because she found out that she was good at something, basketball. Of course Art got an A because that is the way she expresses herself. Art lets her speak out and say what she wants to say.
After the 2nd marking period her grades were: Attitude- D, Lunch- C, Clothes- C-, Social Studies- , Biology- B, English- C-, Spanish C-, Algebra- C-, Gym - C-, and Art- A.
Melinda's social life hasn't gotten any better. Instead of going out for the weekend and spending time with Heather. She decides to lounge for two days until her Mom makes her go help out at the store. I think that her not going out has something to do with her attitude. She is always so negative or unsocial which makes her have a bad attitude. I think that the attitude problem relates to lunch also. Art, of course, still has an A. The project that she did was the turkey bone project with the barbie doll head. I think the barbie doll head represented her and who she used to be. Melinda's grades not only represent her work performance, but they also represent her life, her attitude, and how she is doing.
