LOTF- Chapter 2:The Little Boy with The Mulbury-Colored Birthmark
In this chapter the author introduces a boy, they do not give him a name. I've been told that he has no identity throughout the book. He is called the little boy with the mulberry-colored birthmark the entire book. On page 27 and 28, the boy is brave and he comes forward to address a problem in a meeting. The boy was very scared, he was on the verge of tears and the two "leaders" weren't helping at all, they kept on pressuring him and making him even more scared. Once again, Piggy stepped up and comforted the little boy. The boy introduces the fact that there is a beastie on the island. He describes is as a snake-like monster. When this problem is introduced the element of fear comes into play. The phrase "the small boy twisted further into himself" representes to me, weakness, fright, and sadness. To the "leaders" the little boy with the mulberry-colored birthmark is weak.
